Everyone takes the shots of them self at some point where you hold your camera at arms length and you end up with a bad angle and accentuating the things you hate about yourself. There are some amazing photographers out there that have the gift of taking beautiful self portraits. Now I thought, if I have no one to take pictures of other than my daughter, why not just practice taking pictures of myself? Sure I don’t have the best equipment at the moment, but I think I made it work…after creating a tall enough tripod by using a wire dress form and a gorillapod tripod attached to my camera as well as using the strap to tie it in place! Then of course I had to get my settings the way I wanted them and then figure out what on earth I was going to do for poses…..so out of the at least 150 pictures I took, I ended up with 8 that were usable and I think worthy of showing.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
